If you want your hands free, carry your things on your back: the rolltop backpack in felt and leather – or all in cowhide leather – grows with you. Rolled down flat in the morning with your laptop inside, with room for the groceries on top in the evening: 20 to 25 litres, fits laptops up to 17 inches.
For a more laid-back option, there's the duffel: the MEERWERK in felt and leather closes with a thick cotton rope that doubles as the carrying system – slung over your shoulder or worn as a backpack. If you prefer all leather, go for the suede leather duffel. Both come in two sizes: small for a day in town, large as a gym bag.

Felt and Leather – Materials That Get Better with Age
Leather develops a patina. Scratches become part of the character, not flaws. We use sturdy cowhide and buffalo leather with different finishes. Depending on how you use it, the leather changes and takes on the marks of its owner.
Wool felt stays robust and pleasant to the touch, and hardly changes at all. The felt protects, gives structure, and together with the leather creates the signature werktat look.

Are the bags really made by you?
Yes. Every bag is cut, sewn and finished by hand in our workshop in Ilsfeld, Baden-Württemberg. Not in a factory, not outsourced. By us.
Can the bag handle rain?
Wool felt and leather cope with light rain without any trouble. Felt is water-repellent – moisture only soaks in after some time. Water marks can appear on the leather, but they fade again over time. Please don't let the bags get soaked through, and store them in a dry place.
Are your men's shoulder bags particularly modern or trendy?
Our shoulder bags are timelessly modern. They don't follow fast trends – we want them to be carried for a long time.
Do your bags need special care?
No. Our leather is naturally rich in fats, oils and waxes. An occasional wipe with a soft, damp cloth is fine. The felt doesn't need special care either. It's dirt-repellent and can simply be vacuumed if needed.
