Waxed Cowhide Leather

A natural leather – drum-dyed all the way through, buffed, and finished with wax. This is what creates its vibrant, slightly cloudy surface. High-quality fats and oils give the leather its soft, waxy feel. Wherever it is stretched, folded, or touched, the surface lightens slightly. All of this gives our products their antique pull-up effect: every use leaves its mark, and marks become patina. That's exactly what this leather is made for.
Why we use this leather
It's our jack of all trades: waxed cowhide leather goes into more products than we care to count – and we still reach for it again and again. It's firm enough to hold its shape. Soft enough to go along with anything. Its colors make our felt look better instead of drowning it out. And: rustic can do quiet, too.
