Every werktat women's bag is made as a one-of-a-kind piece in our small workshop in Ilsfeld, Germany – from genuine leather and pure wool felt. Two natural materials, one unmistakable look: rustic, durable and pleasant to hold.
Two natural materials that belong together
Wool felt made from 100% virgin wool and genuine leather are the materials behind all our bags. The felt is hard-wearing, water-repellent and easy to care for – depending on the model, we use it in 3 or 5 mm thickness. The leather comes from cattle or water buffalo, vegetable-tanned or conventionally tanned, with a grain ranging from fine to distinctive. Over the years it develops its own patina, making every bag more beautiful with time. We never use exotic leathers.
Which bag suits you?
Our collection is constantly growing with new shapes, sizes and designs. Wear the werktat shoulder bag classically over your shoulder or across your body as a crossbody bag – with plenty of room for everything you need to bring along. You'll also find handbags, soft bucket bags, roomy shoppers and totes, messenger bags, duffel bags, backpacks and small pouches. Many models come in several colours – from grey and anthracite to yellow, blue, green and red.
Felt bags: robust, water-repellent, sustainable
A bag made of wool felt brings a piece of nature into everyday life: the wool fibre keeps rain out, stands up to daily use and needs no synthetic materials at all. Combined with genuine leather, it creates a look that clearly stands apart from mass-produced goods – functional and understated or fashionably accented, depending on the model.
Leather bags: a companion with a story
Whether soft and slouchy or firm and structured – our leather bags cover the whole range, from classic brown, cognac and black to red, blue, grey and green. Every bag has at least one slip pocket or zipped inner pocket, so your keys and phone always have their place.
From our workshop straight to you
As a small manufacturer, we produce in small batches and sell directly – without any middlemen. You can buy our bags in our online shop.
