Why a Pouch by werktat?
Because the material knows its job – and so do we. Wool felt consists of matted fibers with pockets of air in between: if the pouch falls off the table, the fibers compress, the air spreads the energy, and the felt springs back – your pens stay protected. The lanolin contained in the felt makes moisture bead up before it can soak in and keeps dirt away from the fibers, too. On top of that, wool hardly picks up any odors – handy for a companion that travels in your bag or backpack every day.

It's the southern German nickname for a big pencil pouch, used colloquially as a synonym for pencil case. The word most likely derives from the German verb “verschlampen” – to lose or misplace something. Which is exactly what it protects you from.

How do I get my pencil case clean again?
First remove all utensils and give the case a good shake – graphite dust, eraser crumbs and broken leads will trickle out. If needed, vacuum up the remaining fluff. Clean a leather case carefully with a damp cloth if it's heavily soiled. The felt case may even be washed under running lukewarm water with a little soap and a soft sponge – don't rub too hard.
